Sindrome into the halls of extermination2/15/2023 ![]() And Clive Burr, who would leave following their breakthrough album Number of the Beast, has a unique style of drumming. Steve Harris plays bass that for once, you can actually hear, unlike most metal albums. Dave Murray and Adrian Smith's dual guitar work is temendous. Di'Anno's vocals haven't changed much between their debut and much, but they already fit in perfectly, so that might actually be a good thing. Every song just has something to it that makes it great. But this one flows from the intro "Ides of March" to the closer, "Drifter". Even on most other Maiden albums there is at least one throwaway filler. Every song on here is essential, which is true on so few other albums. The album I am reviewing is Killers, their second, and last with Paul Di'Anno, their first vocalist to appear on an album. They have had 3 singers, 4 guitarists, and 2 drummers during their 30 year stint during which they have released 14 studio albums along with many other live albums and bootlegs. They have influenced just about any metal band that has some melody. It is easily said that they are the biggest band to come out of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. ![]()
